A Message From The Principal
Mrs Claire Allen
What a wonderful start to our year it has been. Students
have settled into their learning routines and we have received
very positive feedback from students and their families
on our recent swimming carnival, the new learning
programs in place, upgrades to our playground and our
improved communication procedures. We value and appreciate
our families providing us with feedback as this helps us
to continue on a journey of improved practice that benefits
our students.
We welcome and encourage all families to
come along to our Parent Information Evening this coming
Tuesday. This presents the perfect opportunity to meet
your child’s teacher, get to know other families and staff
members and enjoy a delicious sausage sandwich, provided
by our P&C. The P&C will have flyers to share that will
help families to explore how they can be involved in this
wonderful organisation.

Leaders Induction
It was such a privilege to induct our 2023 leadership team last Monday. All students dressed to impress in their formal uniforms and our House Captains greeted guests with maturity, welcoming them to our assembly. The leadership team presented for the first time to a whole-school audience,
displaying confident public speaking skills. We celebrated
the induction of our Band Captain, Oliver O’Regan,
and our Cultural Ambassador, Tyrell Russell-Towney.
We congratulate and celebrate our 2023 leadership team in it’s entirety:

Vice Captains: Laycee Lawler and Joe Brown

LIONESS LIBRARY BAGS
The yearly gift of a Lioness library bag is a treasured experience for our Kindergarten class. Squeals of joy accompany the presentation from the Lioness, Mrs Barnes, and our students couldn’t wait to unpack the treasures inside.
These packs open up their world to a love of libraries and reading and commence our town Kindergarten library program for the year. Each week, our Kindergarten students walk to the town library and explore rich texts, learning to borrow and enjoy stories being read aloud. We thank the Lioness Club for the time taken to put together these gifts.
2 MAX FM
Our Captains and Vice Captains took to the airwaves yesterday on their first 2Max FM broadcast. This wonderful experience occurs every fortnight and we just loved hearing our school community congratulate them on their clear voices and confident delivery of material as they walked back to school. Mrs Lindy White works with the leaders each week to develop their pieces. This is a valuable life experience for our leadersand we are confident they will look back with fond memories for years to come. Maybe there is even a budding future Radio Host in our midst!
SRC VOTING
This week our classes from Years 1 to 5 voted for their
Semester One 2023 SRC representatives. Students selfnominate
for these positions, outlining to peers why they feel they should be elected. Their peers then carefully consider each nomination, using the role statement for an SRC Representative as their guide. It’s always impressive to see how seriously our students take this process, developing democratic voting skills that will support them
later in life.
This coming Monday we will induct our first semester SRC representatives at a formal assembly under the Infants COLA at 9:30am. All families are welcome.

Quiet Area Update
Our Quiet Area has seen some wonderful improvements
over the past few weeks. The digging area for the primary
students is being painted with bright colours, we have
added additional seating, as well as the giant chess, board
games, Giant Jenga and Connect 4 in addition to a Corn
Hole game. This has become a wonderful alternate play
space where students can elect to be outside in a quieter
shade space, playing with their friends and supported
by members of our Learning Enrichment and Wellbeing Team.
P&C Annual General Meeting
The Narrabri Public School Parents and Citizens Association is an important part of the school environment and aims to raise funds and to provide resources for the school, as well as provide an avenue to find out information and raise issues with the principal and the staff. Everyone is welcome to join.
Our P&C AGM meeting will be held
1st March at 6:00 pm at the NPS office building.
Please come along see what the P&C is about and meet new people. Positions will be available if you wish to be on the committee but you do not need to take a role to be a part of the P&C, we need many helpers for events and activities we do during the school year.
If you can not attend the meeting in person we can send a zoom link.
If you need any information on the P&C please talk to
one of the committee members or get in touch with the President, Mrs Cassie Woolford. We look forward to seeing you there.
